Summer School

MPA Summer School

The International Summer School (ISS) is a compulsory element of the Executive Masters in Public Administration programme and a highlight of the course. Established in 1996, this week long conference brings together public sector managers from across Europe, who are also studying for an MPA.

The ISS provides an exciting and challenging context for international and comparative discussions. Approximately 100 delegates from nine universities are divided into cross-national working-groups faced with solving various tasks over the week, including the preparation of a presentation the final day. Apart from generating professional public management networks covering most of Europe, the intercultural, social atmosphere also forms lasting friendships.

The ISS is run by a collaboration of prestigious European Universities and provides a pan-European dimension on the MPA courses of the participating institutions. The collaboration of universities includes: Copenhagen Business School , Bocconi University, Erasmus University, Esade, Hint and Hist University Norway, Limerick University , London South Bank University and Potsdam University. Hosting of the ISS is undertaken by each of the partner universities in rotation, with academic content determined by the Faculty members of the participating universities.
